Eduqas A-Level Computer Science is taken in England and is assessed through two written papers and a programmed solution to a problem. The written components cover computer architecture, communication, data representation, organisation and structure of data, programming, algorithms, and the wider consequences of computing.

The programmed solution is a substantial piece of independent work and, as on every board, it is the component where planning matters more than coding ability. Eduqas expects a clear statement of the problem and its users, a design that can be traced through to the finished program, and testing evidence that demonstrates the solution actually meets the requirements set out at the start.
