Computer Science

Year 2 · National Curriculum (England)

Year 2 builds directly on algorithmic thinking by creating and debugging simple programs, usually through block-based tools appropriate for the age group, and understanding that programs follow instructions in a specific order. Children continue developing online safety habits and begin using technology purposefully to organise and present digital content.

As with Year 1, exact sequencing is a school decision within the Key Stage 1 programme of study, not a fixed year-by-year national standard.
