Computer Science

Year 6 · National Curriculum (England)

Year 6 consolidates six years of primary computing: designing and writing programs to solve genuinely specific problems, decomposing a problem into smaller parts, and using a variety of software confidently across different devices to create and present work to a real standard. Understanding of computer networks and online safety is expected to be secure by the end of this year.

This is the final year of Key Stage 2, so by its end children should be ready for the more formal, structured Computing curriculum that begins at Key Stage 3 in Year 7.
