Physics

Year 10 · National Curriculum (England)

Year 10 begins the GCSE Physics course in England, typically covering energy, electricity, particle model of matter and atomic structure. Formulae and units become central, and students meet the equation sheet they will use in both papers.

The main shift from Key Stage 3 is mathematical: rearranging equations, working in standard form, converting units and drawing accurate graphs all carry marks. The four English boards cover the same core content — the board pages set out the specification detail.
