Physics

Year 11 · National Curriculum (England)

Year 11 completes GCSE Physics in England, usually covering forces, waves, magnetism and electromagnetism, and — for separate physics students — space physics.

Forces is the largest topic on the specification and carries the heaviest calculation load: resultant forces, Newton's laws, momentum, stopping distances and motion graphs. Exam performance depends on setting work out cleanly — equation, substitution, answer, unit — as much as on knowing the physics.
