CBSE Class 1 English follows the NCERT Marigold reader and builds spoken confidence before written accuracy. Children listen to and recite rhymes and stories, build everyday vocabulary, and answer simple questions about what they have heard.

Reading develops through phonics — letter sounds, blending simple words and recognising sight words — and writing progresses from letter formation to short sentences. In UAE schools following CBSE, English is usually the medium of instruction, so this foundation carries every other subject.
