Computer Science

Grade 9 is where computer studies becomes a subject in its own right in Canada — Introduction to Computer Studies (ICS2O in Ontario) or a provincial equivalent, usually an open-level course open to any student.

Students learn programming fundamentals in a text-based language, build and test working programs, and study computer hardware, software and operating systems. The course also covers digital citizenship, environmental impact of technology, and careers in computing.
