Biology

Year 11 · National Curriculum (England)

Year 11 completes GCSE Biology in England and takes students into the examinations. Remaining content usually covers homeostasis and response, inheritance, variation and evolution, and ecology.

Beyond content, the year is about exam technique — extended six-mark responses, questions on the required practicals, and interpreting data the student has never seen before. Those three question types account for most of the marks that separate grades, and all three respond well to focused practice.
