GCSE · Pearson / Edexcel
Pearson Edexcel GCSE Mathematics follows the same national content areas as other exam boards — Number, Algebra, Ratio & Proportion, Geometry & Measures, Probability and Statistics — but with its own distinct question style across three papers (one non-calculator, two calculator), offered at Foundation and Higher tier.
Edexcel's papers are known for embedding functional, real-world contexts into multi-mark problems, so strong technique in reading and structuring an answer matters as much as raw topic knowledge. Algebra and geometry remain the heaviest-weighted areas, with trigonometry, circle theorems and vectors appearing regularly at Higher tier.
Because exam board style genuinely differs, tutoring that uses actual Edexcel-style past papers — rather than generic GCSE maths practice — makes a measurable difference to exam readiness.
