WJEC's Eduqas GCSE Mathematics — the version examined in England — covers the same six national content areas as every board (Number, Algebra, Ratio & Proportion, Geometry & Measures, Probability and Statistics), at Foundation or Higher tier. The genuinely distinctive part is the exam structure: instead of three shorter papers like AQA, Edexcel and OCR, Eduqas assesses everything across just two longer papers — one non-calculator, one calculator — each 2 hours 15 minutes. Same overall content, fewer and longer sittings.

Algebra and geometry carry the heaviest weighting, including simultaneous and quadratic equations, circle theorems, trigonometry, and vectors at Higher tier. Because each paper covers more ground in one sitting, pacing and stamina across a longer exam matter more here than on boards with shorter, more frequent papers.

Students who find sustained concentration across a longer paper challenging — rather than the maths itself — often benefit most from Eduqas-specific timed practice, since the structure is what needs its own preparation, on top of the standard content.
