Grade 6 · Canadian Curriculum (General)
Grade 6 completes elementary coding in most Canadian provinces. Students design, write, test and refine programs that solve a defined problem, using variables, lists, conditionals, loops and subprograms, and increasingly writing in text rather than blocks.
They design and query simple databases, present findings from data, and evaluate which digital tool actually suits a task. Systems work covers binary, how the internet stores and routes data, and practical cyber security.
