Grade 3 · Canadian Curriculum (General)

Grade 3 coding introduces conditional statements — instructions that only run when something is true. Students combine sequence, repetition and conditionals so a program can respond differently depending on what happens.

They also begin working with data: collecting it, entering it into a spreadsheet, sorting it and producing a graph to answer a question, which connects the coding work to the data strand of the mathematics curriculum.
