Year 2 · National Curriculum (England)
Year 2 introduces living things and their habitats — matching animals and plants to the environments they're suited to, and exploring simple food chains. Students grow their own plants, observing and recording what plants need to survive and grow.
Work on materials extends to comparing suitability — why a material is chosen for a particular use — and students learn the basics of animal life cycles, including humans growing from baby to adult.
