Science

Grade 8 science prepares students directly for secondary courses. Topics cover cells and cellular processes, fluids and their properties, systems in action, and water systems.

Students study cell structure, diffusion and osmosis, and the organization of cells into tissues and organs; investigate viscosity, density and buoyancy; analyze mechanical systems and mechanical advantage; and examine the water cycle, watersheds and water quality.
