Grade 8 · Canadian Curriculum (General)
Grade 8 coding is the bridge into secondary computer studies. Students work with nested data structures, functions with parameters and return values, string and file handling, and standard algorithms such as linear and binary search and simple sorts.
Theory covers boolean logic, binary arithmetic and hexadecimal, network protocols, and cyber security threats and defences. Students typically complete a substantial project of their own design and document it properly.
