Science

Grade 11 · Canadian Curriculum (General)

In Grade 11 Canadian students split science into separate subjects (Biology, Chemistry and Physics) usually taking university-preparation courses (SBI3U, SCH3U and SPH3U in Ontario) chosen to match their intended degree.

Biology covers biodiversity, evolution, genetics, plant and animal systems. Chemistry covers matter and bonding, quantities in reactions and the mole, solutions and solubility, gases and organic chemistry. Physics covers kinematics, forces, energy, waves and electricity. These courses are the prerequisites for Grade 12 and, through it, for university admission.
