P4 · Northern Ireland Curriculum
P4 completes Key Stage 1. Place value extends to 1,000, column addition and subtraction become secure, and the 3, 4 and 8 times tables are added to those already known, along with the matching division facts.
Fractions are taught properly — recognising, comparing and finding unit and non-unit fractions of shapes and amounts. Measures cover length, weight, capacity, money and time on both analogue and digital clocks, including the 24-hour clock.
Geometry introduces right angles, and lines that are parallel or perpendicular. Handling data extends into bar charts and Venn and Carroll diagrams.
