P2 · Northern Ireland Curriculum
P2 completes the Foundation Stage. Children count confidently to 20 and beyond, order numbers, and begin to combine and take away small quantities using objects, fingers and number lines before recording in symbols.
Measures work compares length, weight, capacity and time using standard and non-standard units, money extends into recognising and combining coins, and shape work covers naming and describing 2D shapes and 3D objects and their properties.
Data handling begins with sorting into groups and making simple pictograms — the first step toward the tables and charts used from P3 onwards.
