Pearson Edexcel A-Level Mathematics (9MA0) teaches the same government-prescribed content as every other board but divides it differently at assessment: Papers 1 and 2 are Pure Mathematics, each two hours, and Paper 3 covers Statistics and Mechanics in a single paper split into two clearly separated sections.

Edexcel is the most widely taught mathematics specification in England, which means the largest bank of past papers, worked solutions and practice material — a genuine advantage for independent revision. The statistics section is built on Edexcel's own large data set, drawn from weather station records, and questions assume familiarity with its structure and quirks rather than merely with statistical technique in the abstract.
