Year 6 covers light in more depth — how we see objects, and why shadows form the shape they do — and electricity extends to using recognised circuit symbols and diagrams. Evolution and inheritance are introduced for the first time, alongside classification using detailed keys.

Human biology covers the circulatory system (heart, blood vessels, blood) and the link between diet, exercise, drugs and lifestyle on health — content that also supports SATs-style science reasoning questions.
