Grade 8 is the bridge into secondary maths: solving and graphing linear relations, and a formal introduction to the Pythagorean theorem. Patterning & Algebra work centers on representing and analysing linear relationships between two variables.

Measurement covers surface area and volume of more complex solids, and Data Management introduces analysing bias and reliability in data collection — a more critical, applied approach to statistics than earlier grades.
