Mathematics

Grade 10 builds on Grade 9's stream (Academic or Applied) with quadratic relations, trigonometry of right triangles, and further work on linear systems. Academic-stream students move deeper into abstract algebraic manipulation; Applied-stream students focus more on measurement and applied problem-solving.

This is typically the year a student's stream choice starts to meaningfully shape which senior maths courses (and therefore which university programs) remain open to them.
