Grade 6 introduces ratio and rate as new ways of comparing quantities, and integers (including negative numbers) are introduced formally. Patterning & Algebra grows into representing relationships using simple algebraic expressions and solving for an unknown.
Geometry covers the properties of angles formed by intersecting lines, and Data Management extends to interpreting and comparing different types of graphs.
