National 4 Physics covers Electricity and Energy, Waves and Radiation, and Dynamics and Space, assessed internally with an Added Value Unit investigation to complete the award.

Pupils meet circuits and electrical safety, energy transfer and conservation, heat, wave properties, the electromagnetic spectrum, nuclear radiation, speed and acceleration, forces, and space exploration. Calculations use straightforward formulae with correct units.

The most common stumbling block is confidence with formula rearrangement and units, which responds very well to short, regular one-to-one practice.
