Year 10 · Northern Ireland Curriculum
Year 10 completes Key Stage 3 and in most Northern Ireland schools begins GCSE content. Biology covers cells and transport, enzymes, inheritance, evolution and ecosystems; chemistry covers bonding, the mole, rates, energy changes and organic chemistry basics.
Physics covers forces and motion with equations, energy calculations, electricity, waves, radioactivity and space. Prescribed practicals in the CCEA style are introduced, with formal attention to accuracy, precision and uncertainty.
Schools decide around this point between Double Award Science and separate Biology, Chemistry and Physics GCSEs, so confidence across all three strands keeps every option open.
