P7 World Around Us covers classification of living things into broad groups, the circulatory system, and the effects of diet, exercise, drugs and lifestyle on the body.

Evolution and inheritance are introduced through fossils, adaptation and natural selection. Light is studied as travelling in straight lines to explain shadows and reflection, and electricity work covers the effect of voltage on circuits and recognised circuit symbols.

Enquiry work expects pupils to plan and justify their approach, control variables, and report conclusions with the confidence the evidence actually supports — exactly what Year 8 science assumes on arrival.
