P4 World Around Us covers plants in detail — roots, stem, leaves and flowers and what each does — alongside human nutrition, the skeleton and how muscles produce movement.

Rocks, soils and fossils introduce earth science, light work covers sources, reflection and shadows, and forces and magnets are studied through hands-on investigation of attraction, repulsion and magnetic materials.

Pupils set up their own comparative tests, take accurate measurements, record results in tables, and use them to answer a question rather than simply describe what they saw.
