Combined Science

AQA Combined Science: Trilogy covers all three sciences — Biology, Chemistry and Physics — but at reduced depth compared to studying them as separate Triple Science GCSEs, and is worth two GCSEs instead of three. Assessment is across six papers (two per science), at Foundation or Higher tier.

Combined Science is the most common route nationally and is entirely sufficient for most further study, but a small number of specific A-Level or university pathways (particularly some Physics or Engineering degrees) prefer or require Triple Science — worth checking early if your child has a specific future path in mind.
