The UAE has one of the most international school systems in the world. The large majority of pupils attend private schools, and those schools run entirely different curricula side by side: a family in the same Dubai neighbourhood might have one child following the British curriculum, a neighbour on CBSE, and another at an American or IB school.
That makes the curriculum, rather than the country, the thing that actually determines what your child is studying. A Year 9 student at a British school in Dubai is following the same programme as a Year 9 student in Manchester, and will sit the same IGCSE papers from Cambridge or Pearson Edexcel.
RSIS tutors students across all four of the main pathways in the Emirates. Pick your child's curriculum below to see exactly what is covered, year by year and subject by subject.
- British-curriculum schools are the largest group by number of schools, leading to IGCSE at Years 10-11 and A Level at Years 12-13.
- Indian-curriculum schools, mostly CBSE, teach the largest single share of pupils in Dubai.
- American-curriculum schools follow US state standards and lead to a High School Diploma, often with AP courses.
- IB schools run the PYP, MYP and Diploma Programme, and are well represented in both Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
