Science

Grade 9 Science in Canada (SNC1W in Ontario, with provincial equivalents elsewhere) is a single integrated course covering all four science disciplines rather than separate subjects.

Content covers biology — cells, cell division and sustainable ecosystems; chemistry — atomic theory, the periodic table, chemical reactions and compounds; physics — electricity, circuits and electrical safety; and Earth and space science — the universe and space exploration. Ontario's course also embeds STEM skills and Indigenous scientific knowledge.
